The CMSG will promote a Stage Rally Championship (MSA Championship Permit Number 2008/5703) consisting of selected events which take place in the area between 1st January and 31st December 2008. There will be a £10 registration fee for this Championship for each competitor, for which the closing date for registration is 31st August 2008. Points will only be awarded for events entered after registration.
The Championship comprises of 15 rounds, and a competitors best SEVEN scores from the year will count towards both their Overall & Class placings, with no more than FIVE scores from either half of the season being taken into account - 30th June being the halfway mark. Should any of the events not run, the Championship Coordinator will endeavour to find a substitute.
Points as scored
as follows:-
Overall 1st - 25 points 2nd - 24 points
3rd - 23 points
and so on down to 1 point for 25th place
In addition, each competitor who starts an event will gain 5 points
Class 1st - 10 points
2nd - 9 points 3rd - 8 points
and so on down to 1 point for 10th place
In addition, each competitor who starts an event will gain 1 point
Should a competitor change classes, as long as they adhere to the class rules,
class points already gained will be frozen, but they will keep any points gained
in the overall placings.
Classes are A -
up to 1400cc, B - 1401cc-1600cc, C - 1601cc-2000cc & D - over 2000cc
but, 4WD cars are excluded and all forced induction cars must have their
original engine & transmission configuration.
If an event
organiser is unable to resolve a tie, both competitors will receive the same
points and the next competitor two less. Ties at the end of the
season will be resolved by:-
i) Least number of events entered
ii) Lowest Capacity (overall only)
iii) Highest position on any event in the Championship
iv) Highest number of maximum points

1st Overall Driver Award &
perpetual trophy
1st Overall Co-Driver Award & perpetual trophy
An award to each Driver & Co-Driver who have the highest number of points in
each capacity class subject to three contenders, 2nd subject to five and 3rd
subject to eight.

Marque awards are presented to the relevant driver who's car is powered by an engine from the same manufacture as the
car itself, or the cars configuration is that of a standard production model.
An award for the highest placed driver under the age of
25 on 1st January 2008 (donated by Gloplas) will also be presented.
Apart marque & under 25 awards, no competitor may win more than one award, all
of which remain CMSG
property.
