The CMSGCC will promote a Road Sport Championship which takes place in the area between 1st January 2010 & 31st December 2010. There will be a £5 registration fee for the Championship and points will only be awarded after registration.
The Championship consists of a series of 12-Car Rallies of which the number of events will not exceed eight. Should any event not run then the Championship Coordinator will endeavour to find a substitute. All events will be organised by the CMSGCC.
Points will be awarded to the Driver & Navigator for starting the event (5 points) and then 15 points for the highest placed Championship contender, 12 points for the 2nd, 10 points for the 3rd, 9 points for the 4th down to 1 point for the 12th placed finisher(s). If the event organiser is unable to resolve a tie, both competitors will receive the same points. Event organisers (of which there can be a maximum of two per round) can also score points (20), but only once.
Final Championship positions will be decided by considering the best scoring events from half the number of rounds rounded up plus one - i.e. if seven rounds run, then the best five will count, if six or five run, the best four will count, if four run, three will count, etc.
Championship ties will be resolved
by:-
i) Highest number of maximum points
ii) Highest dropped score
iii) Highest overall position on any event
iv) Next highest dropped score, etc.
Classes run are:-
Expert: Has, as a
navigator, won three CMSG Championship events in the previous three years
(currently since 1st January 2007) or finished in the top five of a navigational
('plot & bash') National B road rally in the last three years, or won the CMSG
Championship or won the CMSG Novice Championship twice since 2004.
Novice: Not an expert.
For each event it is the status of the navigator that determines the status of
the crew.
A competitor will maintain the status declared on the registration form (duly
authenticated) for the current season, notwithstanding upgrading which may take
place due to event results. A driver who has navigators of different
status through the season will score points only in the relative classes
competed.
Awards at the end of the year (perpetual trophies remain the property of the CMSGCC) will be presented to both the Driver & Navigator for 1st Overall, and 1st in Class (subject to THREE class contenders). No Driver or Navigator may win more than one award.
Standard penalties for the Road Sport Championship are to be used thus:-

| Not visiting a Passage Control | 10 marks |
