The CMSGCC will promote a Car Trial (PCT) Championship consisting of selected events which take place in the area between 1st January 2010 & 31st December 2010. There will be a £5 registration fee and all registered contenders will automatically score points. Points will only be awarded after registration.
A car trial is one of the cheapest forms of motor sport available and is open to anyone over 15 years of age. A full day's entertainment can be enjoyed in a standard road car for an entry fee of around £25. Events provide sections or hills, where all drivers can enjoy success and watch whilst their competitors take a turn. It is a test of driver's car control and in enjoyed by motor sport novices, drivers from other disciplines and continues to inspire regular competitors as well.
Points will be awarded 10 for 1st, 8 for 2nd, 7 for 3rd and so on to a minimum of 1 point - where there are less than four starters in a class, points awarded in that class will be reduced by one. Any competitor who organises a round of the Championship (either as Clerk-of-the-Course or Secretary) will score 7 points - these can only be scored once.
Championship scores will be counted
according to the following:-
7 scores from 11 or 10 events, 6 scores from 9 or 8 events, 5 scores from 7 or 6 events and
all rounds to count should less then 6 events run.
The Championship runs five Classes:-
A) Front engine, front wheel drive production cars
B) Front engine, rear wheel drive production saloons & production
sports cars
C) Rear engine, rear wheel drive production cars
D) Kit cars
E) Specials (not eligible for overall awards)
...in all of which, tyres must comply with MSA General Regulations for Car Trial's
(PCT's).
Championship ties will be resolved by considering the best performance on the final round. If the tie is not resolved, then the previous round will be considered and so on.
Championship awards will be presented to the Overall Championship winner, Best Novice (defined as not having won a class award since 1st January 2005) and to the 1st in each Class (assuming that at least three competitors have scored points in the Class). No competitor can win more than one award, the order of precedence being as listed above.
Championship communications/correspondence/enquiries/registration should be directed to the Championship Coordinator, Tim Lakin, whilst points allocation/scoring enquiries should be directed to Simon Harris.
