2008 sees the CMSG/HRCR Stage Rally Challenge taking a slightly different stance from the past three years - instead of running as a separate entity, it will be run as an integral class within the CMSG Stage Rally Championship and it consists of five rounds taking place in the area between 1st January and 31st December 2008. There will be a £10 registration fee for each Challenge competitor, the closing date being 31st August 2008. Points will only be awarded for events entered after registration.
The Challenge is open to all Historic (Category 1), Post-Historic (Category 2) and Classic (Category 3) cars - there will be no specific class differentiation.
Of the FIVE selected rounds that make up the Challenge, a competitors best four scores from the year will count towards their placings. Should any of the events not run, the Challenge Coordinator will endeavour to find a substitute.
Competitors must be a fully paid up member of both the HRCR and the CMSGCC, whilst their car must comply with the requirements of K37 in the MSA 'Blue Book' for historic rally cars (Categories 1, 2 & 3) at all times. Particular attention is drawn to complying with K37.15, HRVIF's (all categories) and Homologation Papers (Category 3).
Points as scored
as follows:-
1st - 15 points
2nd - 14 points 3rd - 13 points
and so on down to 1 point for 15th place
In addition, each competitor who starts an event will gain 1 point
If an event
organiser is unable to resolve a tie, both competitors will receive the same
points and the next competitor two less. End of season ties will be
resolved by:-

iv) Highest number of maximum points
End of season awards (donated by the HRCR) will be presented to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Drivers & Co-Drivers. Perpetual trophies will remain the property of the CMSG/HRCR.
